Soon, mobile phone maker Motorola should make official a new flavor of its Moto X handset, and the device seems to have made an appearance in Geekbench, where some of the hardware specs it will feature when released have been revealed.

The handset has emerged in the aforementioned benchmark listing with model number Motorola XT1097 attached to it, but rumor has it that it will arrive on shelves under the name of Moto X+1.

While no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now, the device has been spotted in various leaks quite often over the past several months, and could actually pan out in the end.

According to the aforementioned Geekbench listing, the upcoming smartphone should arrive on the market with a quad-core Qualcomm 8974AC Snapdragon 801, with each of the four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.45GHz.

Moreover, the forthcoming device is expected to include the Adreno 330 graphics processing unit, while also featuring 2GB of RAM. These hardware specs are in line with what leaked on the device a while ago via AnTuTu, as GSMArena notes.

However, the listing also reveals that Motorola has already loaded the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system on this device, after the previously seen benchmark revealed it with Android 4.4.3.

The rest of the mobile phone’s hardware capabilities haven’t been revealed in Geekbench, but previous reports on it did reveal some more details on the matter.

Thus, Motorola is expected to launch the new Moto X+1 handset with a 5.1-inch or 5.2-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution.

Moreover, the upcoming mobile phone is expected to sport a 12-megapixel camera on the back, with dual-LED flash and full HD video recording capabilities. A front camera is also said to be included in the package.

Moto X+1 might be powered by a 2900mAh battery and should include all of the usual connectivity capabilities, starting with 4G LTE. The same as its predecessor, the new device is expected to provide users with a variety of customization options, including wooden backs.

This suggests that it would be sold via the Moto Maker website, the same as Moto X and Moto G. However, only users in select markets will be able to grab it this way.

Unfortunately, no details on when the handset might become official have been provided as of now, and info on its possible pricing is missing as well. Keep an eye on this space for more on the matter.
