Later this week, mobile phone maker Motorola is expected to make official a new device running under Google’s Android operating system, and confirmation on the matter has emerged online.

A recent listing on the GFXBench website shows a yet unannounced Motorola XT1032 smartphone as coming soon with Android 4.4 KitKat loaded on top, which is believed to be none other than the recently rumored Moto G handset.

The device is listed on the benchmarking website with the codename of falcon_gpe attached, which also suggests that it could be a Google Play Edition device.

Furthermore, the fact that the mobile phone appears to be running under Android 4.4 is also said to be an indicator of the fact that it will be a special edition handset.

The listing confirms previous rumors on the device’s hardware specifications, including its 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8226 quad-core CPU, which is paired with an Adreno 305 graphics processor.

Additionally, the GFXBench database shows the phone as packing a 1280 x 720p display, in line with the previous reports on it featuring a 4.5-inch HD screen.

Moto G, should this be indeed the previously rumored device, will arrive on the market with 8GB of internal memory, as well as with the usual set of connectivity capabilities.

Furthermore, the handset will pack a 5-megapixel camera on the back, paired with a 1.3MP front camera.

As GSMInsider notes, Motorola’s upcoming mobile phone is also expected to arrive on shelves in China in the not too distant future.

Given the fact that its chipset comes with support for TD-SCDMA, CDMA 1xAdv and HSPA+ connectivity, it could potentially arrive at all three major carriers in the country, namely China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom.

No official confirmation on this has emerged so far, but Motorola is expected to announce more on this device as soon as Wednesday, so stay tuned for additional info on the matter.
