Motorola XOOM, the first tablet PC in the world to arrive on shelves with the new Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system on board, is now available for purchase via Motorola for $100 less than the usual $799 price tag it sports.
The Android device is listed in Motorola's online
store with the same $799 price tag as at Verizon, but the company takes $100 off it when users introduce the “MOTOXOOM” code when prompted.
At $699,
the tablet PC would certainly seem a little more attractive than usual, though it might appeal even more to those who would acquire it on contract.
The device would easily leave behind tablets like the Apple iPad, but the price tag at which it is being offered at the moment is seen as a real deal breaker, especially when considering that the second iPad model offers hardware capabilities on par with XOOM's.
Verizon lists the Motorola XOOM on its website at $599 with the signing of a two-year contract agreement, which is still high enough, especially when compared to similar devices. The deal is available from Motorola's online store too,
here.
Motorola XOOM, the first Honeycomb tablet in the world, sports a dual core application processor inside, along with 1GB of RAM, and a high-resolution 10.1-inch touchscreen display.
It also includes a 5MP photo snapper on the back with LED flash and HD video recording, as well as a front-facing camera for video calling (Google Talk), GPS receiver with support for Google Maps, 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities. The tablet PC is also upgradable to 4G, Motorola notes.
Here's how the company presents that new device on its website, “The MOTOROLA XOOM is the first tablet with dual-core processor and Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) - powerful Google software developed specifically for tablets. It features front and rear-facing cameras, a camcorder and Adobe Flash Player, all on a 10.1-inch widescreen HD display.”
Those who would like to benefit from the said deal at
Motorola should head to the company's website
here. Don't forget to introduce the “MOTOXOOM” promo code when prompted.
