14 DAY TRIAL // Following the success and huge popularity of the Motorola XOOM tablet, the US-based company announced the immediate availability of Motorola XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition in Denmark.
Both Wi-Fi only and 3G models of the tablet are now available for purchase through El-Giganten retail stores for the following prices:
- Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition - Wi-Fi variant - from 2990 DKK (515 USD or 400 EUR); - Motorola XOOM 2 - Wi-Fi variant - from 3299 DKK (570 USD or 445 EUR); - Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition - Wi-Fi & 3G variant - from 3599 DKK (620 USD or 485 EUR); - Motorola XOOM 2 - Wi-Fi & 3G variant - from 3899 DKK (675 USD to 525 EUR).
Unfortunately, the tablets are shipped with Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system out of the box, though Motorola confirmed an Ice Cream Sandwich update would be available in Q2/Q3 2012.
Motorola XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition both feature dual-core 1.2 GHz processors, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
One of the major differences between the two tablets is the display. While the XOOM 2 sports a large 10.1-inch HD-IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 800 x 1280 pixels resolution, the XOOM 2 Media Edition comes with a slightly smaller 8.2-inch display.
It is also worth mentioning that both displays are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass coating. Last but not least, the XOOM 2 is powered by a high-capacity 7000 mAh Li-Ion battery, while the XOOM 2 Media Edition drains energy from a 3960 mAh Li-Ion battery.
