Motorola didn't have any new flashy products to show at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but the company is not wasting any time promising new exciting products for the near future.

And since smartwatches and wearable tech seem to be the gadget du-jour, Motorola has posted an announcement on its official Twitter page, saying that it is gearing up to soon jump on the smartwatch bandwagon.

Moreover, the company is planning to further the availability of the Moto Maker phone customization service onto the shores of Europe and Mexico.

For those unfamiliar with Moto Maker, this is a web-based app that allows users to customize their Moto X smartphone in terms of design before they make an order for the device. The service will become available internationally in Q2 2014.

Going back to the smartwatch, Motorola is being pretty elitist about it, saying that the current models on the market aren't really products people will actually want to wear around their wrists.

That’s why the company wants to come up with a stylish new product that would fell more like jewelry, giving those wearing it a premium feel.

Hopefully, the new smartwatch won’t be something remotely resembling the fitness-centric Moto ACTV which failed to impress customers everywhere.
