14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola announced that Jiangsu Mobile Communications Corporation (JSMCC), the Jiangsu-province branch of China Mobile, will deploy Motorola's solution for location-based mobile telecommunications services. The agreement will enable JSMCC to provide location-based value added services to 20 million subscribers in Jiangsu province.
JSMCC is the twelfth provincial branch of China Mobile to adopt Motorola's solution for location-based services. The contract between JSMCC and Motorola was signed on December 21, 2006 and it's a significant win for Motorola Networks & Enterprise, which is steadily increasing its services business in China.

Location-based services use the mobile telecommunication network to offer customized information and applications based on a user's location. JSMCC's new location-based services are expected to go live in February, 2007. They include applications such as mobile yellow pages, which direct users to nearby outlets e.g. gas stations, restaurants and book stores.
The Motorola Services team offers expertise to mobile telecoms operators like JSMCC to help them deploy new services and applications. By enabling location-based services in the Yangtze delta, one of China's most economically active areas, the deal with JSMCC is expected to drive similar opportunities in other regions of China.
