Verizon Wireless added a new Motorola handset to its offer, the
Moto W755, which was rumored to come at the second largest North American carrier a few months ago. Now the phone is available for purchase (in 2 versions, purple and black) offering users a new choice when it comes to affordable, pretty and not-that-advanced devices.
The new Moto W755 can be bought for 69.99 USD (after a $50 online discount), with a contract agreement for two years, from Verizon's official website, found at
this address. Most probably, users can get the phone from Verizon's retails stores across the US, for a similar price.
Coming in a clamshell form factor, Motorola W755 is covered in "soft-touch paint" and features metallic accents, therefore it looks pretty good although it resembles other Moto phones that came out along the years, hence it brings nothing new in terms of design. What it does bring new, however, is a set of external touch-sensitive keys that will allow users to control several of the phone's features (music, Bluetooth, incoming calls etc).
Aside from this, W755 also
offers: 1X/EV-DO dual-band connectivity (800 / 1900 MHz), a 1.9 inch main TFT display with 65K colors and 176 x 220 pixels, an external CSTN screen with 96 x 80 pixels and 65K colors, A-GPS to work with VZ Navigator, stereo Bluetooth, Music player (MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+), access to V CAST Music and V CAST Video, a 1.3 Megapixel camera with optical zoom and video recording, hearing aid compatibility, microSD card support for up to 4GB and so on all in a case that measures 3.9 x 1.9 x 0.68 inches (99 x 48 x 17 millimeters) and weighs 3.6 ounces (102 grams).
In conclusion, for its affordable price, Motorola W755 is not a bad handset at all, so users who have nothing against Moto or against clamshell phones should give it a try. That is, if they don't aim for something more expensive, of course.
