T-Mobile USA users who feel that their carrier doesn't offer enough Motorola phones will be pleased to learn that, sometime in the near future, a new handset manufactured by the big M will be available to them.

The device in question is Motorola W6, but T-Mo seems to want its name to sound differently, hence it will sell it as MotoACTV (most probably standing for “Moto Active”). In case you expect the new Motorola to be on the high-end side, your expectations will not be met, as the ACTV is rather an entry-level device.

Coming in a clamshell form factor, the W6 should bring the following features: a 1.3 Megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and video recording, CrystalTalk technology for a clear audio experience, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, Music player, GSM / GPRS / EDGE connectivity, external and internal displays (of unknown sizes and resolutions), MyFaves, SMS, Instant Messaging, speakerphone and microSD card support for up to 2GB. The new Moto W6 should also pack a battery capable of offering up to 6.5 hours of talk-time or up to 350 hours of stand-by time.

Although the new handset has not been officially presented by T-Mobile, it was unveiled by Motorola back in July, when the company said that the phone should hit the Brazilian market as MOTOROKR W6, sometime at the end of August (which is about now).

According to CellPhoneSignal, T-Mobile might start selling the MotoACTV on September 3, the same day when Sony Ericsson TM506 should hit the shelves (thus, users will have two new clamshells to choose from). This means that, in case the much-talked-about HTC Dream / G1 is not your thing, T-Mo will still have some fresh goodies to offer.

No details are yet available on the cost of Motorola's new handset from T-Mobile, but since its features are not too advanced, the fourth largest US mobile carrier couldn’t have any reason(s) to sell it for a high price.
