The more affordable but just as stylish alternative to the RAZR, the Motorola W220 clamshell is now available in Australia. Measuring only 46 x 95 x 16.7mm and weighing as little as 93 grams, it won't incommode the user while being carried in a pocket.

While not making a single compromise when coming to the sleek and stylish design that is a trademark of the RAZR
and all the RAZR-like mobiles Motorola has produced so far, some compromises had to be made to make this mobile phone more affordable than the RAZR.

Therefore, the only compromise that could be made was dropping some of the more high-level features the RAZR possessed. Motorola W220 does not target users that are looking for more high-tech mobile phones, but the average user that is looking for some pretty nice features in a stylish case for a decent sum of money.

The handheld is designed to have both entertainment and communication features such as an FM Radio, picture messaging and downloading media capabilities, an alarm clock, Wap capabilities, calendar and currency converter, and is equipped with a 128 x 128 pixel 65k color CTSN display with large font capability that is said to make the fonts on the mobile more readable.

While the mobile lacks a built-in camera and some users might find this somewhat discouraging, the Motorola W220 was created with three words in mind "simplicity, style and performance" and offers a great deal for a pretty low price.

It lasts around 497 minutes of talk time and 293 hours in standby mode. Now available in Australia, the Motorola W220 has a retail price of $159.
