Motorola will soon release its third Ferrari-branded mobile phone, the Moto RAZR V9 Ferrari Edition, which comes after the
RAZR V6 and the banana-shaped Z8, which both got to be
touched by the famous Italian car manufacturer.
The new version of V9 will bring, besides a re-stylized case that bears the Ferrari symbols, an extra skin-made case, as well as Ferrari videos, wallpapers and ringtones. These aspects aside, the phone will have the same specs as the original version.
Apparently, the V9 Ferrari phone is planned to be released only in Asia and Latin America, so users from other regions who might want a "Motorrari" clamshell will have to stick to the V6 special edition that came out back in 2007.
Anyway, in case you don't know what the V9 has to offer, the handset comes with a range of features that make it a mid-end device. For example, we have a 2.2 inch internal display with 240 x 320 pixels and 256K colors,
a similar external screen (a bit smaller though, only 2.0 inches), a 2 Megapixel camera with video recording, secondary video-call camera, quad-band GSM connectivity plus HSDPA for fast data transfer speeds (up to 3.6 Mpbs), Music player with MP3, AAC and AAC+ support, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, miniUSB 2.0, Instant Messaging, email, Opera 8 browser, organizer, handsfree, Java MIDP 2.0, 45MB of internal memory and microSD card support for up to 2GB.
Since the original V9 weighs 125 grams and, when closed, it measures 103 x 53 x 13.3 millimeters (quite slim for a clamshell), the Ferrari Edition will probably have the same dimensions and weight.
For the moment, there are no details about when the V9 Ferrari will be commercially
available, nor about its price. However, users should expect to pay much more for the "Ferrarized" V9 than for its original version.
