Motorola has just announced the future availability of three new mobile phones in its ROKR family: EM30, EM28 and EM25. The handsets target young consumers who want their handsets to pack lots of music related features.

First appeared on the Web several months ago, Motorola EM30 is a candybar that resembles the ROKR E8 and it's probably a cheaper version of it. Relying on Moto's ModeShift technology, the EM30 comes with a keypad that can change its look and functionality in order to offer users a good control over its functions.

The features of EM30 include: Music player with high-end audio quality, a 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, Windows Media Player 11 (which allows users to check out and download music from over 200 online music stores), CrystalTalk technology, USB 2.0 a 2 Megapixel camera, expandable memory (up to 8GB) and quad-band GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE.

The EM30 has exactly the same size and weight as the ROKR E8: 100 grams and115 x 53 x 10.6 millimeters, and comes with the same 970 mAh battery that can last up to five hours in talk-time mode or up to 300 hours in stand-by mode.

Motorola EM28 is a clamshell that was first spotted on the FCC website, not too long ago, under the name of Motorla Ischia. The phone comes with a 1.2 external display that features touch-sensitive music controls, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 3.5mm headset jack, Music player, 3D sound effects, FM radio with RDS, CrystalTalk technology, a 1.3 Megapixel camera, USB 2.0 and microSD card support for up to 2GB. The EM28 comes with tri-band GSM connectivity (850 / 1800 / 1900 MHz or 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz - depending on the region), plus GPRS and EDGE.

Motorola EM25 is a slider that looks pretty nice and brings about the same features as the above-mentioned clamshell, save for the fact that this one only packs dual-band GSM technology (850 / 1900 MHz or 900 / 1800 MHz) with GPRS.

"Following the path of our award-winning ROKR E8, the newest additions to our ROKR family make listening to and discovering new music accessible and affordable for everyone. From uncovering new music with friends through our FMShare feature to enjoying surround-sound quality audio, these new ROKR phones deliver the music you want whenever, wherever and however you want to hear it," revealed Steve Lalla, corporate vice president, mass market, Motorola Mobile Devices.

Motorola said that all its three new ROKR handsets would be commercially available starting this quarter (hence, the latest in September), in most of the countries around the world. The EM30 will first be on sale in Taiwan, while the other two handsets should be released at about the same time on multiple markets.

The retail prices of the phones have not been announced yet, but for Moto's sake, they'd better be reasonable ones.
