Earlier this week, mobile phone maker Motorola has started to delivery of Android 4.4.4 KitKat for some of its DROID devices available in the US on Verizon, and today the company has unveiled some more info on the update rollout.

Although the new platform iteration has started arriving on said smartphones (namely DROID Ultra, DROID MAXX and DROID Mini) as part of a soak test, it seems that all owners of these phones should receive it soon.

Moreover, Motorola has officially confirmed that the Android 4.4.4 KitKat platform release is currently rolling out to other handsets in its lineup as well, such as the Moto and Moto G.

“We’ve begun rolling out Android 4.4.4, KitKat to our phones! This latest update includes all of the goodies of 4.4.3—such a new dialer, the ability to pause during video recording, and enhanced camera image quality—and includes enhanced security for OpenSSL,” Motorola announced.

“We just started rolling out in Brazil and India for Moto G; in Brazil, France, Canada, and Asia Pacific for Moto E; in the U.S. for DROID Ultra.”

At the same time, the company notes that it is determined to make new platform iterations available for download as fast as possible, and that more devices will receive it in the not-too-distant future.

On top of that, the mobile phone maker has confirmed that its Mark Rose will be having a conversation with users on various topics, such as Motorola Assist.

Mark is the company’s product manager for Quick Capture and Motorola Assist, and he is focused on making smartphones work as smooth as possible, by delivering the features that users need when they need them.

“In a meeting? The app can silence your phone. Driving to work? It can tell you who’s calling or read your texts out loud. Want to take a quick photo? Pull out your camera and twist it to pull up the camera app in a flash,” Motorola explains.

The conversation will kick off on July 17, and 2pm-2:30pm CT. Users interested in joining it should head over to this Google+ event page for that.

Additionally, Motorola announced that the Motorola Connect application has received an update too, now offering a sleeker, more beautiful interface, which also allows users to view text messages and calls coming into your Connect-enabled phone on their computers, in the Chrome browser.

Users will be able to call their phones right from the desktop now, which will enable them to easily find a device that has been lost in the house. To grab the updated software, head over to the Google Play store.
