Although the smartphone was available at Best Buy two days ahead of its official launch, Motorola TRIUMPH has just hit shelves at Virgin Mobile USA for $299.99.

The TRIUMPH is the first Android smartphone that is exclusively available to Virgin Mobile USA customers and can be purchased at national major retailers and online.

As smartphone ownership continues to accelerate, we are thrilled to offer Virgin Mobile customers this exciting, compelling new handset from a device leader like Motorola,” said Mark Lederman, Business Line director, Virgin Mobile USA.

Even though the TRIUMPH cannot be put against dual-core Android smartphones, it still is one of the best value for money solution for Android fans and tinkerers.

Equipped with a single core processor clocked at 1GHz processor, the TRIUMPH offers users a superfast Web browsing and multitasking experience.

Furthermore, the smartphone comes with a large 4.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support and 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

It sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, as well as a secondary front-facing VGA camera for video chat and 720p HD camcorder with HDMI output, to allow for playback on HDTVs.

The prepaid segment is a key opportunity in the wireless industry. With Motorola TRIUMPH, we are excited to offer Virgin Mobile customers a device which provides a powerful Android smartphone experience with no compromises,” said Jeff Miller, corporate vice president, Motorola Mobility.

The phone packs 2 GB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

In addition, Motorola TRIUMPH is the first handset to come preloaded with the Virgin Mobile Live 2.0 social networking music application used to access the Virgin Mobile branded music stream, hosted by DJ Abbey Braden.

The application also provides users of Android-powered devices with free access to live music performance videos and “check in” features at special events.
