Motorola provided earlier this month a preview of its financial results, along with estimates of mobile devices shipments in the fourth quarter 2011. The company predicted 10.5 million devices shipped in Q4 2011, of which 5.3 million smartphones.

It appears that Motorola’s estimations were correct, as the company has just announced its Q4 2011 financial results. As predicted, Motorola shipped 10.5 million mobile devices, of which 5.3 million were smartphones.

In addition, Motorola confirmed it had shipped only 200,000 tablets in the fourth quarter 2011, and 1 million during the full year. The company blames low net revenues on the “increased competitive environment” in the smartphone and tablet market.

On the same note, Motorola announced $80 million net loss for Q4 2011 and net revenues of $13.1 billion for the full year, up 14% from the last year.
