Mobile phone maker Motorola started rolling out the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system to its Moto G smartphones in Australia last month, but it seems that all of its Moto E, Moto G, and Moto X devices should be receiving the platform upgrade now.

According to the company’s support website, the OS update has been pushed to all models in the country, including Moto G 4G devices.

At the same time, as Ausdroid notes, the company has also published the full changelog for the update, so that users would make a better idea of what is coming their way.

“With this upgrade you get the latest version of the Android OS (Android 4.4.4, KitKat) as well as new features, enhancements and bug fixes,” the mobile phone maker notes.

Moreover, Motorola explains that the software update has started rolling out to users with accuracy improvements to the power profile, as well as with a series of stability, framework, and security fixes. The new platform iteration also comes with an update to OpenSSL, the company explains.

On top of that, the upgrade to Android 4.4.4 KitKat provides users with better camera image quality, which includes better consistency of exposure, as well as more realistic flash coloring.

According to the release notes, users will also enjoy better photos in low-light conditions when using the front camera.

The update comes with another camera improvement as well, namely the ability to pause video recording, courtesy of a new pause/resume button that is present on the viewfinder.

The Phone dialer has been improved in the new platform iteration, now featuring a new graphical layout, along with more colors, aimed at improving consistency and usability.

As part of the platform upgrade, users will also receive the new Motorola Alert application, which has been designed to send periodic alerts with the user’s location to selected contacts.

The application is available for download from the Google Play Store and is meant to provide an extra level of security to all owners of Moto devices.

According to Motorola, users should consider downloading the new platform updated over a Wi-Fi network, so as to avoid any data charges. Moreover, they should also make sure that the battery inside their phones is charged at least at 50 percent.

Users should receive a notification on the availability of the new update, but they can also manually check on it by going to Settings > About phone > System updates.
