Major carrier Claro and Motorola Mobility launched the Motorola SCREEN MINI EX132 last week. The dustproof and water-resistant handset is a feature-phone that offers deep social networking integration along with a decent touchscreen display.

The handset is available via Claro for S/. 209 (77 USD or 60 EUR) with a new one-year agreement on the carrier’s Smart i129 postpaid plan.

Also known as Motorola EX232, the rugged phone provides users with protection against water splashes and dust. Aimed at active people, Motorola SCREEN MINI EX132 allows users to access their social networking accounts, such as Twitter, YouTube and Facebook while on the move.

To emphasize the rich social networking integration, Motorola SCREEN MINI EX132 comes with a secondary 0.7-inch OLED display (96 x 16 pixels resolution) that acts like a notification bar that shows users any incoming messages they receive from friends and family, as well as info on the songs they’re listening.

Furthermore, Motorola SCREEN MINI EX132 is delivered with an innovative function called Outdoor Active Mode that improves active people’s experience while doing sports.

Basically, with this mode users will be able to quickly access the MP3 music player and FM radio while on the go.

The Motorola SCREEN MINI EX132 offers the teen audience a truly touchscreen experience and greater protection against water splashes, dust and shocks, which represents an accessible and attractive alternative for this segment,” said Hugo Gonzalez, Claro´s director of sales and distribution.

On the back, Motorola SCREEN MINI EX132 sports a mediocre 2-megapixel photo snapper that can also capture videos. The phone has a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 262k colors.

There’s also 50MB onboard memory, 128 MB of RAM as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB).

Motorola SCREEN MINI EX132 is a great for consumers who want to stay connected. With integrated social media and a second screen for notifications, the device allows users to stay connected and updated about what interests them most,” concludedAlexander Zawadzki, Motorola Mobility´s country manager for Peru.
