Packing an NVIDIA Tegra GPU

Mobile phone maker Motorola already made a few nice steps to the Android side of the smartphone market, yet it seems that what we've seen until now will be easily shadowed by what is about to come. According to the latest news around the Internet, the handset vendor is considering the release of an Android-based mobile phone that would be powered by a 2GHz processor.

It seems that the device in question was mentioned by the company's co-CEO Sanjay Jha during a speech over at Execute Club, at least this is what a recent article on ConceivablyTech reports (via BGR). No specific details on this behemoth were unveiled by Jha, though rumor has it that Motorola plans on pushing it to the market before the end of the ongoing year arrives.

In case that 2GHz processor seems impressive, the rest of the rumored specifications for the device should go hand in hand with it. It seems that another Motorola executive said that the company planned packing an NVIDIA Tegra GPU inside the phone, that the camera it should feature would boast more than 5-megapixels, along with HD video recording, and that users should be able to enjoy HD display, 720p out, Flash 10.1 and gyroscope with the device.

These seem more like specs put in place by an enthusiast who wished Motorola launched such a phone already, but chances are that things will prove real in the end. For the time being, it all remains in the rumors side, but we'll keel an eye open for more info on the matter. In the meantime, we'll be waiting for other two long-rumored Android-based handsets from the company to land on the market, namely the Motorola DROID 2 and DROID Xtreme. A total number of 20 phones powered by Google's mobile operating system are set to arrive on shelves from Motorola during 2010, as the company stated recently.
