According to the latest news on the Web, the phone maker Motorola might plan to launch its Motorola Ruby VE1 RAZR3 handset after all. The fact that the device might get launched in the end is suggested by its appearance in a series of press shots, from which it also results that the name of the mobile phone is expected be Motorola VE1.

As many of you might already know, the company was reported a while ago to have canceled the development of the Motorola Ruby VE1 (also known as RAZR3). What drove the company to end the work on the handset? The answer is a simple one. The phone is expected to be powered by the Symbian UIQ 3, and the recently spotted pictures seem to confirm that user interface.

At the same time, it is also known that Nokia’s Symbian Foundation ceased at a certain moment the development of the UIQ, which is believed to be one of the reasons Motorola also abandoned the work on its handset.

The new press photos with the Motorola Ruby VE1 are sure to make a lot of questions surface. They could point towards the fact that the phone maker will launch the handset after all. At the same time, another possibility would be that the company intends to keep Ruby’s hardware and power the device with an OS developed by the Symbian Foundation.

One way or the other, we should be able to see the mobile phone launched, which does sound like good news after all, mainly due to the fact that this clamshell sports a 5 Megapixel camera, GPS capabilities, as well as Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity, which are nice features for such a device. For the time being, the Motorola Ruby VE1 is canceled, and it should remain this way until the company comes up with an official announcement that things have changed.
