We’ve already reported on Motorola’s ‘secret’ project that is meant to deliver the Ice Cream Sandwich update to its Motorola XOOM tablets. The handset maker recruited a few weeks ago a number of Wi-Fi Motorola XOOM owners to test the update.

The soak test of the final version of Ice Cream Sandwich kicked off last week, but Motorola said that it would not prolong the wait unless serious issues were discovered during the testing period.

Fortunately, it appears that the build was bug-free and Motorola is pushing the Android 4.0.3 update to all Wi-Fi XOOM units in the United States.

Only those with stock versions of Honeycomb are eligible for this upgrade which is delivered OTA (over the air), in waves. To manually check for the update go to Settings / About tablet / Software Update / Check now.
