Motorola might just be on a big comeback with the future release of its ROKR E8 mobile phone. The device looks highly futuristic and tries out one more alternative to the classic keypad, as buttons have now become so yesterday's news.

Motorola ROKR E8 looks like the hottest thing to head towards the mobile phone market and this due to a pretty interesting technology that combines colored leds with touch feedback. The design is also pretty out of the ordinary, with impressive color combinations and player design on the navigation keypad. The 2 inches screen is smaller than those seen with other mobile phones, but should be everything needed for using the phone's music rendering functions at full potential.

The flat, touch-sensitive keypad offers no tactile feedback while the phone is in standby mode. Still, when in use, a haptic response is generated each time the user presses one button. There is a small hole to guide actions and make sure that no accidental pressing takes place.

Motorola ROKR E8 features pretty average performances, overall. The haptic choice for navigation comes as a response to the sole disadvantage that people found to touchscreen. The company's solution is innovative and could very well be picked up by touchscreen phone producers. The phone also includes a 2 megapixel camera, which will provide nice captures, although nothing out of the ordinary.

There's no chance for 3G with this phone, as EDGE and GPRS is all that the owner will get. Motorola ROKR E8 can also handle emails and instant messages, which should bring the most evolved communication solutions. Other than that, it also packs an FM radio and a microSD card slot to make sure that the user has tons of entertainment to enjoy.

All bets were on a November release for Motorola ROKR E8. The month is not over and there is still time left for this to happen, although the producer made no official statement on the handset's launch.
