Motorola Mobility officially announced about two weeks ago, the RAZR V will be coming to Canada in the following weeks.
Although the US-based company did not mention when exactly the smartphone will hit shelves, it stated that Motorola RAZR V is going to make its debut in Canada in Q3 2012.
“We’re thrilled to launch another RAZR into the Canadian market. Motorola RAZR V will be available through a wide selection of channels – bringing the iconic Motorola design and smarter smartphone experience to Canadians
,” said Michelle Digulla, general manager, Motorola Mobility Canada.
However, the folks over at MobileSyrup
have just learned that Bell Canada plans to release the Motorola RAZR V
on August 2. The launch date is confirmed by an internal document leaked online.
Motorola RAZR V follows the same design line as the entire RAZR family of smarpthones, so expect this one to come at only 8.4mm thickness and 125g (battery included) weight.
The back cover is made with DuPont Kevlar fiber, while a scratch-resistant screen defends against bumps and bruises. The phone's 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.
On the inside, the RAZR V is equipped with a 1.2 GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM and an unknown amount of storage. Motorola also confirmed the smartphone features microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).
More importantly, Motorola RAZR V is powered by Google's Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
operating system, though we expect to Motorola to announce any Jelly Bean upgrade plans for this smartphone.
There's also an 8-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.
Even though we don't have any info on the Motorola RAZR V's pricing options, rumor has it that the smartphone will be available for purchase for around $400 CAD outright.
