Shortly after announcing its “impossibly thin” LTE smartphone, Motorola RAZR, the company revealed that the device will receive the highly-anticipated Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade sometime in early 2012.

Speaking at Motorola RAZR launch event in Berlin, Alain Mutricy, Motorola Mobility’s SVP of Portfolio and Product Management, told journalists that the company is working to make Motorola RAZR hallmark features compatible with Android 4.0 platform.

Among these features, Mutricy mentioned Motocast app, which allows users to stream media content from PC to Motorola RAZR.

Furthermore, Motorola's official mentioned that the company hopes to be able to deploy the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade for the RAZR in Q1 2012, but did not mention any release date.

Mutricy did not make any reference to the DROID RAZR Android 4.0 upgrade, which will be exclusively available at Verizon Wireless beginning November.
