Motorola Mobility continues to boost its market share in South America. The next country to get the company’s RAZR Android flagship smartphone is Peru.

Beginning today, Android fans living in Peru can purchase the Motorola RAZR through major carriers in the country. Unfortunately, Motorola did not disclose any details regarding the smartphone’s pricing options.

At only 7.1mm, Motorola RAZR is one of the thinnest Android phones available on the market. The smartphone is loaded with premium shapes and materials, such as KEVLAR fiber, Corning Gorilla Glass and splash-guard coatings.

As expected, Motorola RAZR is shipped with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system on board. However, Motorola is expected to push an Ice Cream Sandwich update sometime in Q2 2012.

Once amongst the most powerful smartphones launched on the market, the RAZR now falls behind the latest devices introduced, such as HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy S III and Sony Xperia S.

Hardware-wise, the RAZR is equipped with a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 GPU and 1GB of RAM. In addition, the smartphone packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

There’s also an impressive 8-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

Last but not least, the RAZR offers multiple connectivity options, including HSDPA (14.4Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps), Wi-Fi, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0 and microHDMI port.

The original Motorola RAZR managed to turn a functional need an object of desire. And now we have achieved this again with the creation of this incredibly thin smartphone, with a really attractive design that let you take your life with you all the time,” said Alexander Zawadzki, country manager for Peru, Motorola Mobility.
