The same day Nokia announced the first working Windows Phone 8 device, the Lumia 920, Motorola unveiled no less than 3 Android smartphones, RAZR M, RAZR HD and RAZR MAXX HD.

All three smartphones will be available in the United States exclusively through Verizon Wireless, which is why they will receive the DROID tag in their names.

However, Android fans living in Canada will be able to purchase the RAZR HD only through major carrier Rogers. The smartphone will be available as Motorola RAZR HD LTE sometime “this fall.”

There’s no word on the price tag yet, but more details are likely to surface closer to launch, so we will be keeping a close eye on this one.

Motorola RAZR HD LTE is there for you, no matter where the day takes you. It’s always ready to go. It combines RAZR-sharp design with extended battery performance – the feature we know is most critical for leading-edge consumers,” said Darren Seefried, national account director, Motorola Mobility Canada.

Although the smartphone comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, Motorola confirmed RAZR HD LTE will receive a Jelly Bean update soon after launch.

As the name suggests, the phone’s main selling points are the 4.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, and the fast LTE technology.

In addition, Motorola included a high-capacity 2530 mAh Li-Ion battery inside, which will provide users with up to 16 hours of talk-time or seven hours of YouTube HD shows.

The battery can also provide around 20 hours of music playback, or about 6 hours of surf on the Internet at LTE speeds.

Hardware-wise, Motorola RAZR HD LTE is equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, as well as 1GB of RAM. There are 12GB of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Our customers want fast devices and we are thrilled to exclusively offer them the new Motorola RAZR HD LTE. The Motorola RAZR HD LTE further extends our leadership as the carrier with the largest LTE superphone selection in Canada,” says John Boynton, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Rogers Communications.
