It looks like the pre-order period for the Motorola RAZR is over as the smartphone has just gone live in select Rogers stores.
Customers who want to purchase Motorola's LTE superphone must check at the nearest Rogers stores, as the device is not available online yet.
Furthermore, customers who order or reserve the Motorola RAZR online by November 15 will be entered into a draw for a chance to win 1 of 10 Motorola XOOM tablets.
As expected, the RAZR will go for as low as $149.99 (110 EUR) with a new three-year term or $649.99 (475 EUR) outright.
One of the thinnest smartphones available in the market at only 7.1mm, the Motorola RAZR looks pretty much different than the popular RAZR feature-phone that was launched almost eight years ago.
Motorola designed the RAZR in order to make sure the phone will last even though it's only 7.1mm thick. In this regard, the company made sure that durability is one of the RAZR's main feature, so Motorola used a stainless steel housing, while the back of the phone is made of
KEVLAR fiber.
On the other hand, the front of the phone is covered with Corning Gorilla Display to to make it scratch-resistant.
Moreover, Motorola used a special splash-resistant coating technology in order to protect the device from every day spills, or even rain.
Motorola RAZR will be delivered with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system, but will also be bundled with Rogers bloatware.
However, Motorola confirmed that the RAZR will receive the
Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade in early 2012, though it's unclear when exactly it will be delivered by Rogers.
On the back, there's an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording capabilities, while on the front there's a secondary 1.3-megapixel camera that can record 720p videos.
It is also worth mentioning that Motorola RAZR comes with MotoCast app pre-installed, which allows users to turn their home PCs into “cloud” devices and download or stream multimedia content directly into their smartphones.
