Rumors on the upcoming release of the Motorola RAZR at Fido emerged more than two weeks ago, but no exact launch date leaked until recently.

Although all details pointed to a Q1 2012 release, we now have more information on the phone’s launch date, courtesy to the folks over at MobileSyrup.

It appears that Motorola’s officials already confirmed that the RAZR would go live at Fido on January 10. The phone’s no-term price tag will be disclosed in due time, but Motorola revealed that the RAZR would be available for as low as $100 (76 EUR) with a new three-year agreement.

However, rumor has it that Fido might release the Galaxy Nexus on the January 10 as well. Nothing is official for the moment, but we can safely assume that the Galaxy Nexus will be launched at Rogers initially.

In the same news, Rogers already sells the RAZR for $649.99 (500 EUR) outright, so there’s a high chance that Fido will offer it for the same amount or something around this price.

One of the thinnest LTE-enabled smartphone available in the market, Motorola RAZR comes with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread on board.

However, the handset maker already confirmed plans to deliver the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade to Motorola RAZR as early as Q1 2012. Motorola XOOM is also among the first devices to receive the Android 4.0 update in the following months.

The RAZR is equipped with a powerful dual core TI OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit.

Build to last, Motorola RAZR features KEVLAR fiber, Corning Gorilla Glass and splash-guard coating. The super-phone sports a stunning 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced capacitive touchscreen that boasts 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16 million colors support.

The smartphone also packs an enhanced 8-meagpixel main photo snapper with autofocus and LED flash, as well as secondary 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.
