Motorola has just announced the upcoming availability of its Android flagship smartphone, the RAZR, in Panama. Motorola RAZR will go on sale via major carriers across the country beginning next week for a price that will be unveiled close to launch.

The RAZR will be shipped with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread on board, though Motorola promised an Ice Cream Sandwich update will be rolled out in Q2/Q3 2012.

Motorola prides itself with RAZR's build and design. The smartphone is made of premium materials and is among the thinnest on the market at only 7.1mm.

It features KEVLAR fiber coating, as well as scratch-resistantCorning Gorilla Glass screen, while the insides of the smartphone feature splash-guard coating.

The original Motorola RAZR managed to turn a functional need into an object of desire. Now we’ve done it again by creating the next impossibly thin smartphone – a head-turning design with the power to carry your life with you,” said Alfonso Cleaves Gutierrez, commercial director, Motorola Mobility Central America.

Motorola RAZR sports a brilliant 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

The smartphone is powered by a dual core TI OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, which is complemented by a PowerVR SGX540 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

On the inside, the device packs 16GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Last but not least, the RAZR boasts an impressive 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

We are confident that Motorola Mobility will surprise the Panamanian market, accomplishing an important place in the national consumer’s minds. We are focused on developing and leading the convergence of mobile devices to make everyday life easier through the use of cell phones, tablets and other devices. We have a great challenge ahead of us and we want to successfully accomplish it,” concluded Gutierrez.
