Recently acquired by Google, Motorola Mobility introduced its Android flagship smartphone, the RAZR in Dominican Republic.

Although the handset maker did not reveal the phone’s price tag, it confirmed the Motorola RAZR as being available for purchase through all leading carriers across the country.

The “impossibly thin” Motorola RAZR is only 7.1mm thin and is shipped with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread platform out of the box.

However, Motorola recently announced the smartphone would receive an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system update in the following week. It will probably take some time until the upgrade reaches in Dominican Republic though.

Motorola RAZR is solidly built using premium materials, including KEVLAR fiber, scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass and splash-guard coating.

The most powerful Android smartphone launched by Motorola, the RAZR is equipped with a dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

The phone comes with 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The RAZR sports a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

In the connectivity front, Motorola RAZR is an all-rounder. The smartphone offers users multiple connection options, including HSDPA and HSUPA, Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with AGPS support.

The device drains energy from a high-capacity 1,780 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 12.6 days of standby time or up to 9 hours of talk time.

The original Motorola RAZR managed to turn a functional need into an object of desire. Now we’ve done it again by creating the next impossibly thin smartphone – a head-turning design with the power to carry your life with you,” said Camilo Sánchez, product manager, Motorola Mobility Central America and Caribe.
