A slim and shiny RAZR-like phone

After seeing a large number of phones with four-letter names being released by Motorola, like the RAZR, KRZR, RIZR and SLVR, it is now time for Motorola to introduce a new one, boasting the KRZR's shiny, mirror-like exterior and the RAZR's slimness.

Of course, it's quite obvious that as thin and sleek as it is, it's just another RAZR phone with a small change in looks and a new name. This is why this phone, dubbed the LAZR is actually believed to be the RAZR 2.

Come to think of it, dubbing this phone the 'RAZR 2' would be somewhat logical, for several reasons. Firstly, the RAZR was probably Motorola's most successful phone so far and after so many re-vamps, it's about time they released an actual upgrade for it.

Also, Motorola has recently reported that it will be facing a downturn in sales of its mobile phones through the first quarter of this year and it will be needing a new product that might come close to selling as much as the RAZR did.

The LAZR is said to run on Linux and come with a text to speech feature to help compose text messages and emails. It also includes a 2-inch main screen and 512MB of internal memory. While the rest of the features remain unknown for now, it looks like one thing it's not going to come equipped with is a card slot for memory expansion. Since it won't be long until CTIA starts, more details regarding this mobile phone (and others) should be revealed soon.
