Moreover, there has been a significant reduction in dropped calls, this leading to a better mobile experience.

Eric Pradier, vice president Global Services, Motorola Home & Networks Mobility EMEA, added: "By capitalizing on Motorola's many years of experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining high-quality mobile networks, operators like Telef?nica can focus on their core business initiatives and serving the customer demands. By enhancing the overall network performance and offering flexible managed services business models that deliver measurable results, Motorola enables operators to introduce new services as well as the provision of a robust, dependable network to accelerate the delivery of personal media experiences to their customers."

Operating under the movistar name, Telef?nica currently has more than 23 million Spanish mobile users, being way ahead of Vodafone and Orange in terms of subscriber number (the V carrier has 15.5 million users while Orange only attracted 11 million). Telef?nica and movistar are present in lots of other countries besides Spain, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela.
