Yesterday Motorola introduced a new entry-level handset called the Moto E (second generation) which will be available for purchase for only $150 / €130.

The Moto E (2015) bundles 4G LTE connectivity which the original handset did not have. In addition, the handset sports a slightly more spacious 4.5-inch qHD display (540 x 960 pixel resolution) and a better 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor running things on the inside.

Well, Motorola seems to be very proud of how the Moto E (2015) turned out, so a day after the official roll-out, the company has posted the entire back story of how the handset came to be.

Motorola talks about its latest product

While the device maker focused on outlining the primary features of the phone, it just couldn’t waltz around not being sarcastic towards the competition.

Talking about the Moto’s E curved back, Motorola notes that the ergonomic design makes it fit perfectly in users’ hands.

At the same time we're told the phone will not bend once left in the pocket. Does it ring any bells? Naturally, Motorola is hinting towards the Apple iPhone and iPhone 6 Plus and the whole #bendgate scandal which blew up the Internet a few months ago.

Going back to the Moto E, the company explains that it has really listened to what consumers had to say about their smartphone wants and needs. They also wanted the new Moto E to feel a little bit more premium, so they ported some feats from the second-gen Moto X like the two accelerometers.

The big idea behind the Moto E was that “people shouldn’t have to pay a lot to join the connected world” so Motorola packed great hardware and software inside the handset.

A selfie camera was added up front to make it attractive to the younger consumer crowd too. The phone is available with six differently colored Motorola Bands which can be swiped out for an unlimited level of customization.

In related news, Sony also pushed out a cheap LTE smartphone called the Xperia E4g which will be offered for a price tag of approximately €129 / $145 starting this April.
