Motorola is nearing the launch of a new Android-based device, the Photon Q, which is expected to bring LTE connectivity to Sprint’s users in the not too distant future.

Featuring model number XT89, the smartphone was just spotted in the AnTuTu Benchmark, where some of its capabilities were also unveiled.

The listing shows that Motorola has packed the Photon Q with a 1512MHz application processor inside, most probably a dual-core, and that it loaded the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich platform on it.

In addition to a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, the new mobile phone is also rumored to sport a QWERTY keyboard when released at Sprint.

The handset was spotted at the FCC this week, which also suggested that it should arrive on shelves soon, yet no official confirmation on its existence or arrival has emerged so far.
