Unveiled last year in August, Motorola PRO+ hit shelves three months later. Numerous carriers around the globe were eager to start offering this budget-friendly Android smartphone, which was the perfect competition for other cheap handsets manufactured by LG, Samsung and Nokia.

Today, Motorola Mobility and Colombian carrier Comcel have decided to introduce the Motorola PRO+ in the country. The smartphone is now available for purchase for $60 (45 EUR) with the Plan Sin Fin Ideal 2.000 open 2012 and unlimited Internet access, as well as retention clause of 24 months.

Aside from the fact that the Motorola PRO+ is a great deal for those who cannot afford to purchase a high-end Android phone, the smartphone offer both worlds, a generous touchscreen and a comfortable portrait QWERTY keyboard.

The 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen supports 640 x 480 pixels resolution and 16 million colors. In addition, the display benefits from Corning Gorilla Glass coating, which protects it against scratches and scrapes.

Software-wise, Motorola PRO+ runs Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and comes pre-loaded with Quickoffice Connect app that allows users to edit documents while on the move, as well as Citrix GoToMeeting app that enables users to make conference calls from the smartphone.

Even though the PRO+ is an affordable Android smartphone, the device is equipped with a decent 1 GHz single core processor and packs 4GB of internal memory, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion.

It is also worth mentioning that the smartphone is powered by a high-capacity battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 312 hours of standby time or up to 8 hours of talk time.

Motorola PRO+ is an incredibly efficient smartphone; built to consolidate work and personal life for an advanced smartphone experience. Why shouldn’t you expect your smartphone to make your life easier and to give you an edge at work? That’s our goal at Motorola,” said Gaston Guarrochena, sales manager, Motorola Mobility Colombia.
