Motorola PHOTON 4G, the latest high-end smartphone that Sprint and Motorola brought to the market, is now available for purchase via Best Buy for only $99.99 with the signing of a two-year contract agreement.

The handset was made available for purchase on Sprint's airwaves with a price tag of $199 attached to it, but is now for sale for only half of that, through Best Buy. Free of contract, the PHOTON 4G is available at the retailer for $699.99.

Of course, users will still have to commit to a contract agreement with the wireless carrier, but that should not be a problem given the handset's capabilities.

What should also be noted is the fact that Best Buy offers the Motorola PHOTON 4G at the said price tag for all users, both those who are new to Sprint, as well those who want to upgrade.

Running under Google's Android operating system, the new device from Motorola sports appealing features and capabilities, along with support for various mobile services from Google, and for applications available for download via the Android Market.

“This mobile phone features 4G WiMAX and an Android operating system to help you stay connected and productive on the go. A 4.3" qHD color touch screen allows easy navigation through menus,” the retailer notes on its website.

The handset also comes with a powerful dual-core application processor packed inside, as well as with a high-quality 8-megapixel photo snapper with support for HD video recording.

The mobile phone also comes with a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, as well as with a battery that can deliver up to 10 hours of talk time.

The specifications list of Motorola PHOTON 4G also includes WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities, as well as support for Sprint's WiMAX services, and for the carrier's CDMA network.
