Users will have to register to Motorola Feedback Network

Motorola CLIQ 2 was released in the United States back in March. The phone is not available at T-Mobile USA anymore, but a few major retailers may still have it in stock, though we doubt that.

Anyway, after an official Gingerbread ROM for Motorola CLIQ 2 leaked last year in August, we thought it won’t take long for Motorola to push the update to all devices. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen and Motorola CLIQ 2 owners are still waiting the Gingerbread update.

Today, Motorola CLIQ 2’s official forum has just been updated with new information on the Gingerbread update. The good news is that it’s coming soon, the bad news is that CLIQ 2 owners will still have to wait a bit longer.

It looks like Motorola is now recruiting 1,000 customers who are willing to test and give feedback on the Gingerbread software update for the Motorola CLIQ 2.

We are recruiting 1000 customers to test and provide feedback on the Gingerbread software upgrade for the Motorola CLIQ 2, before it is officially released to all customers.”

According to Motorola, it’s possible to get the update sooner, but only if approved by the company as part of the Motorola Feedback Network trial.

“If you want to get software sooner, there will be a private trial as part of the Motorola Feedback Network. We also recommend you fill out information in our new system as we are in the process of migrating over.”

There’s no telling how long it will take to gather 1,000 people who are still using the Motorola CLIQ 2 and are willing to test it and provide feedback. Hopefully, the company will be able to successfully complete the required tests within the following weeks and finally release Gingerbread for the CLIQ 2.
