5 Megapixel camera, maybe 3x optical zoom too

MotoZine ZN5 is one of the recently rumored Motorola high-end handsets that should be released by the American company until the end of this year. Together with other new Moto phones that will probably be showcased during CTIA Wireless 2008 (1 - 3 April), MotoZine ZN5 is set to reconquer the leading position that Motorola used to have in the mobile industry a few years ago.

MotoZine ZN5 is probably the long awaited phone made in collaboration with Kodak, hence we should expect it to have a really evolved built-in photo camera. As you can see in the available image with the handset, its camera is quite big, which could mean that, besides 5 Megapixels, it will also feature a 3x optical zoom to make it one of the best camera phones to date.

The official specifications of Motorola ZN5 are not known, but there are some rumored features, including: GSM and GPRS connectivity (apparently there's no 3G, which is quite a drawback), Freescale SCM-A11 CPU of unknown speed, Montavista Linux 2.6.1 Operating System, a 320 x 240 pixels display, MPEG-4 support, TV out, 3.5 mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and a morphing keypad resembling the one packed in Motorola ROKR E8, another handset that is not launched yet.

There are no further details about the new ZN5, and the single real image with it is not a frontal one so we can't say if the phone has a slider form factor or a candybar one. The first variant is more likely to be true though.

Hopefully MotoZine ZN5 will have a decent built-in memory and a price in accordance with its features - not quite affordable but neither an excessively high one. More about ZN5 should be revealed at CTIA Wireless so we should wait for the beginning of April to see if this is indeed a handset that can put an end to the not-so-great period Motorola is going through.
