Android fans and enthusiasts will be happy to know AT&T is now offering two of the most powerful Android devices, the Moto X and LG G2, for free.

Obviously, the deal requires customers to sign up for a new two-year agreement. As Phonearena points out, both smartphones were available for $100 on 2-year contracts, but with the current deal customers won't have to pay anything upfront.

The major carrier confirms the current promotion will end on January 31, so those who wish to take advantage of it have about two weeks to decide if they wish to commit to a long term contract at AT&T.

Even though both smartphones are offered for free they are very different in terms of hardware and software configuration. Motorola Moto X ships with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, while the G2 has yet to be confirmed for the upgrade.

Given LG's long history of not offering important updates on time, those who favor software above all else may want to pick Motorola's Moto X smartphone.

However, when it comes to hardware, the G2 is definitely better. The handset boasts a large 5.2-inch True HD-IPS + LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating.

On the inside, the phone is equipped with a powerful 2.26 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. It also packs 16GB of internal memory and no microSD cards slot.

On the other hand, Motorola Moto X sports a slightly smaller 4.7-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Hardware-wise, it packs a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Pro processor clocked at 1.7GHz, an Adreno 320 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. Just like the G2 it comes with 16GB of internal memory and lacks microSD card slot.
