Motorola Moto G launch in India was a real success for both Indian retailer Flipkart, which was the exclusive seller of the smartphone, and the US-based handset maker.

This is one of the main reasons that Motorola plans to bring its most precious Android smartphone now available on the market, the Moto X, to India.

There have been many rumors pointing to a June release for the Indian Moto X, but Motorola is still mum on the official announcement.

More recent speculations claim that Motorola intends to launch the Moto X in India no later than April. No exact release date has been given, but multiple insiders say that Android fans and enthusiasts should expect the Moto X to arrive in India next month.

Well, it appears that we are closer to a Moto X launch in India than we have originally anticipated, as Flipkart has just teased some info on the upcoming event.

The Indian retailer has confirmed on Twitter that Motorola Moto X is “coming soon” and that more details on its exclusive launch day offers will be announced in a “couple of days.”

Although we have yet to confirm it, it looks like Flipkart has scored another exclusivity deal with Motorola for Moto X sales in India.

The Indian company was also the only authorized reseller to offer the Moto G at launch, so it makes sense that if Motorola has been content with Flipkart’s handling the sales of its budget-friendly smartphone, it will maintain the partnership.

But there is more to it. When asked on Twitter if Motorola planned on bringing any customization offers with the Moto X, Flipkart confirmed that customers in India would be able to choose from 5 different color options and two wood-back versions (teak and walnut).

However, Flipkart did not want to disclose any details on the smartphone’s pricing options, but confirmed more info will be available in the coming days.

Motorola Moto X was released on the market last year and it can now be purchased for around $350 (€250) outright in the United States, but it’s a lot more expensive in Europe where it sells for up to £290 ($485 / €345).

No word on whether or not Flipkart will stock both versions of Motorola Moto X: 16GB and 32GB. Here is hoping that the Indian retailer will choose the US price tag over the European one. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
