Motorola’s next flagship smartphone, the Moto X+1, is expected to be unveiled next month at IFA 2014 trade fair. The US-based company has already scheduled a press event on September 4 in Berlin, Germany, and word is that the Moto X+1 and Moto G2 will be the main starts of the press conference.

Until then though, there’s plenty of time to find out what these upcoming smartphones could bring on the market in terms of hardware and software configuration.

The company’s flagship smartphone, the Moto X+1 smartphone, is expected to come packed with the latest technologies Motorola has developed, as well as powerful hardware.

For those unware, we’ve already seen what the handset looks like thanks to the first Motorola Moto X+1 press image published by @evleaks last week. Many have been unpleasantly surprised by the fact that the smartphone looks uglier than the Moto X, which is not the most beautiful device either.

Regardless of that, the Moto X+1 is an important device for Motorola, which is why the company is trying to make it special in other ways, if look is something that doesn’t seem to concern it for the moment.

According to Motorola famous leaker Hellomotohk, who has a good track of rumors and info that got confirmed by official announcements, the Moto X+1 will be the first smartphone launched by the company to pack a main camera with optical zoom.

The optical zoom will be called “Super room,” and while it’s not the first in the industry, it does seem like something could set the Moto X+1 apart from other smartphones in the same price range.

Another piece of information that may put the Moto X+1 among those few slightly different smartphones available on the market is the fact that the device may sport a 3D display with touchless controls.

No additional details have been provided on the nature of this 3D display, so we can’t say for sure whether Motorola will adopt the stereoscopic model (like HTC and LG) or they will come up with a more traditional solution.

In the hardware department, the Moto X+1 is not that impressive at all. The smartphone is said to come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor inside, along with the standard Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

The 13-megapixel rear-facing camera will probably have some other advanced features aside the optical zoom recently tipped. The Moto X+1 is also said to pack 16GB of internal memory and a decent 5.2-inch display.

More details on the Moto X+1 will probably leak online in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
