Bad news for Android fans in India who were anxiously waiting for Motorola to bring its budget-friendly Moto G in the country, as the US-based handset maker recently announced the smartphone's launch has been delayed.

Although the company did not issued an official statement regarding the reasons behind the delay, AndroidOS reports Motorola took it on Twitter and replied to several fans who were asking about the Moto G's release that the phone will be available in India later this month.

Motorola Moto G has been initially confirmed to arrive in India in early January with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box. According to Motorola, both single SIM and dual-SIM versions of the smartphone will be available for purchase in India.

For the time being, there is no confirmed info on the Moto G's price tag in India, but we suspect it will go on sale for around Rs 13,000 ($210 / €155) off contract.

In the same piece of news Motorola Moto G will be released in the United States in mid-January, but it will not ship with Android 4.4 KitKat platform onboard.

At least two carriers announced they will sell the Moto G beginning next week, Verizon Wireless and Boost Mobile, and both confirmed their variants will come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box.

While there's no official statement on what's making Motorola delay the Moto G launch in India, we suspect the company has troubles in meeting the high demand for the smartphone.

Hopefully, Motorola will a high enough amount of Moto G units in India later this month, as the Indian market is well-known for attachment to affordable, dual-SIM smartphones.

We will keep an eye out for more details on the Motorola Moto G launch in India, so stay tuned for additional info on the matter.
