The “hybrid smartphone wireless service provider” Republic Wireless has just announced that, starting next month, it will add the affordable Motorola Moto G to its portfolio.

No information on the exact release date of the smartphone has been given yet, but potential customers will be able to grab the Moto G beginning April for only $150 (€110) off contract.

Republic Wireless has also confirmed that the Motorola Moto G will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box, which means that users won’t have to wait for an additional update to have the latest version of Google’s mobile platform on their devices.

Keep in mind that while the 8GB version of Motorola Moto G has been priced at $150 (€110), the 16GB, which will hit shelves at the same time, will be available for $180 (€130) upfront.

Even though the carrier states that its offers the Moto G contract-free, those who wish to opt for one of Republic Wireless’ plans can chose from the following:

- Unlimited talk, text, and data on WiFi only – $5/month; - Unlimited talk and text on WiFi and cellular, and unlimited data on WiFi – $10/month; - Unlimited talk, text and data on WiFi, plus talk, text and data on 3G cellular – $25/month.

Motorola Moto G is already available for purchase at various carriers in the United States where it sells for similar prices.

However, those who prefer Republic Wireless’ network services will probably be happy that they will soon be able to get one of the most popular budget-friendly Android smartphones available on the market.

Aside from the fact that it’s powered by the newest version of Android, KitKat 4.4.2, the Moto G comes equipped with a more than decent 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

It’s also worth noting that the large 4.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

“The Moto G blows every other smartphone in the affordable category out of the water. I’ve been driving the Moto G as my primary phone for the past month, and I can honestly say that dollar for dollar, this is the best smartphone out there – never before has so much smartphone cost so little.

We are super excited to offer the Moto G with the lowest priced plans in the country delivered by Republic. This well-reviewed device far exceeds the expectations of people who want a world-class smartphone experience for $149,” said David Morken, co-founder and CEO of Republic Wireless.
