The smartphone will be available for $130 (€95) off contract

US-based carrier Boost Mobile has just announced it has already added the Motorola Moto G to its portfolio. The smartphone is now available for purchase via HSN.com and HSN mobile and will arrive on Boost Mobile online store on January 14.

Beginning January 20, the Moto G will be available at select Boost Mobile exclusive retail stores across the country. Potential customers will be able to pick this one up for only $130 (€95) off contract.

Motorola Moto G can be paired with Boost Mobile's $55 (€40) Monthly Unlimited plan with shrinking bills. This means that customers will get lower bills if they pay their plan on time for certain periods of time. The procedure is possible until the plan reaches the $40 (€30) per month amount.

As Boost Mobile points out, Motorola Moto G will come preloaded with the free interactive FM radio application NextRadio. The application allows users to listen to FM radio, as a new type of interactive radio experience.

Different from other radio streaming apps, NextRadio promises to consume about three times less battery life than other music apps, given the fact the audio is coming through a built-in FM tuner instead of over the Internet.

The bad news is Boost Mobile's Moto G won't come with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box, though the carrier confirmed the upgrade will be available as early as February.

The very cheap Motorola Moto G packs a more than decent 4.5-inch HD (720p) IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display featuring Corning Gorilla Glass 3coating for extra protection.

The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

Another downside of the Moto G is that it doesn't offer microSD card slot for memory expansion and the 8GB storage is way too low for heavy users. The good news is Moto G owners can get an extra 50GB of Google Drive storage for two years.

Other highlights of the Moto G include: 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3-megapixel secondary camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, HSDPA (21 Mbps) and 2070 mAh Li-Ion battery (non-removable).
