Motorola’s Moto E success story continues in India, as the device seems to be one of the most popular Android smartphones available in the country.

Officially unveiled in India about two weeks ago, the Moto E has sold out three times since its release on the market, which shows how hot this device is among Android users.

The smartphone is available in black and white for only Rs 6,999 outright, which is about $120 or €85. Additional back covers are available separately for those who prefer more vivid colors.

The Moto E sold out in less than a day the first time it was put on sale exclusively via Flipkart. Although no official statement was issued until now, sources familiar with the matter claim that the Indian retailer may have sold around 100k Moto E units on the first day.

However, Flipkart continued to take bookings for the Moto E, even though the smartphone was not available in stock anymore. The backlog of orders was fulfilled entirely a week later, as another shipment of Moto E units arrived in India.

A few days later, the smartphone went on sale, but it was sold out in less than a day once again. Today, Flipkart has announced that the smartphone is now back in stock, so customers can order either the black or the white color version.

The smartphone is available for the same price, but there’s no telling how many Moto E units Flipkart has in stock this time, and we suspect that it will not last until the end of the day.

In the same piece of news, several Indian OEMs have already announced new Android smartphones that will directly compete with the Moto E. The smartphones have similar specs and have been priced around the same range.

So customers unable to secure their Moto E orders today may want to turn to native handset makers who are offering quite decent alternatives.

Here is a quick recap of what the Moto E has to offer in terms of specs. First of all, it offers dual-SIM capability and ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box.

Hardware-wise, the smartphone is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Motorola Moto E sports a 4.3-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

Update 1: Once again Motorola Moto E goes out of stock at Flipkart in less than a day. Hopefully, more units will arrive in stock soon, stay tuned for more on the matter.
