Motorola will probably make the Moto E official soon enough

Motorola’s Moto E budget handset was launched last year and quickly gained some attention from those looking to adopt a handset with decent specifications.

But taking into account that it’s been quite some time since the Moto E went official, some us have been wondering whether Motorola is going to produce a replacement at some point.

And a few days ago we saw a leaked image purportedly showing the next-gen Motorola Moto E. Back then we weren't too sure whether the images depicted the new handset or were just bogus, but this week we bring you the confirmation.

Moto E pops up at Best Buy, will probably go official soon

US retail giant Best Buy has just listed the Moto E up on its website, showing a few images of the product in the process.

If so far specs of the next-gen budget model have been pretty blurry, the Best Buy listing reveals what we can hope to find onboard of the new device.

The Moto E with 4G is listed as costing $99 / €78 under the Sprint Prepaid service. As for internals, the next-gen Moto E will offer some improvements in some key areas starting with offering 4G LTE connectivity.

The Moto E (2015) will arrive with a 4.5-inch qHD display, which represents an increase compared to the original 4.3-inch model. BestBuy lists a Qualcomm Snapdragon as the platform sustaining the device, but doesn't specify the exact nature of the chipset, so we have to guess it is part of the 400 family.

The device has a 5MP rear-facing camera plus a VGA front-facing camera for selfie taking purposes. Most importantly, Moto E (2015) will ship out with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

The phone’s dimensions are 130 x 67 x 11.9 mm / 5.11 x 2.6 x 0.46 inches while, weight-wise, it breaks the scales at just 143 g / 0.31 lbs.

There’s no word on the official availability of the product, but the fact that the new model has popped up online with Best Buy does indicate that we should expect it to arrive soon.
