Motorola DROID X has just been launched as Motorola Milestone X by regional U.S.-based carrier Cellular South.

The smartphone is already available for purchase for $149.99 with a new two-year agreement and $50 reward card rebate.

Although the Milestone X is a rather old Android smartphone, the device had a decent success among Android fans around the country.

It appears that the phone is now picked by more smaller carriers that want to attract customers with an already popular device.

In this regard, the Milestone X was also launched in January by another regional carrier, Bluegrass Cellular, under the same moniker.

Specs-wise, Cellular South's Milestone X has the same features as the original Droid X including the fact that it is delivered with Android 2.2 Froyo on board.

As a reminder, the DROID X only received the Froyo update in September 2010, but Bluegrass Cellular customer have yet to see the upgrade pulled onto their devices.

The smartphone is equipped with a single core 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor (with PowerVR SGX530 GPU) and boasts an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, face detection, image stabilization and video recording capabilities.

It comes with a 4.3-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support, 480 x 854 pixels resolution, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

When it comes to connectivity features, Motorola Milestone X is an all-rounder and offers users a wide range of options, including Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP connectivity, DLNA function, as well as GPS with A-GPS support.

Motorola Milestone X packs 6.5 GB of internal memory, 512 MB RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB card included).

The phone is powered by a 1540 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide up to 9 days of standby time or up to 9 hours of talk time.
