Shortly after launching the MOTGO! EX430 handset in Peru, Motorola announced the immediate availability of the MOTOSMART XT389 Android smartphone in the country.

According to Motorola, the device will be available for purchase “in the coming days” through major carriers in the country “at a price that's right.”

Also known as Motoluxe XT389, the MOTOSMART XT389 is aimed at trendsetters and fashinistas who are looking for a budget-friendly Android smartphone.

The phone is powered by Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread operating system out of the box and is likely to stay on this version of the platform due to its low hardware configuration.

In this regard, Motorola MOTOSMART XT389 is equipped with an 800 MHz single core processor accompanied by a PowerVR SGX531 graphics processing unit and 512MB of RAM.

There are 512MB of ROM inside as well, along with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). It is also worth mentioning, the smartphone sports a decent 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution.

Motorola MOTOSMART XT389 comes pre-loaded apps and services, but also provides access to more than 600,000 apps and games via Google Play.

When it comes to connectivity, the device offers a wide range of options, including HSDPA (7.2Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps), Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS support and Bluetooth.

The phone's battery has been rated by the manufacturer for up to 260 hours of standby time or up to 5 hours of talk time. However, keep in mind that the actual continuous usage time might be lower and depends on the operations owners are likely to use more.

Simply put, MOTOSMART makes life easier. You don’t have to worry about complicated settings and hard-to-follow instructions. Just turn this smartphone on and get instant access to the people and things in your life that matter most,” said Alexander Zawadzki, Motorola Mobility´s country manager for Peru.
