Motorola MOTOSMART Flip is the first smartphone that combines a compact design with a touch screen flip cover. The US-based handset maker has just announced the immediate availability of the MOTOSMART Flip in Argentina.

Customers can now purchase the smartphone through major carrier Movistar for a promotional price of $849 pesos (190 USD or 150 EUR) with $199 pesos (45 USD or 35 EUR) Full Plan. Those who choose to subscribe to this plan will receive unlimited Internet and every day free talk to all Movistar Community.

Other price options for the Motorola MOTOSMART Flip allows customers to grab the phone for $999 pesos (220 USD or 175 EUR) with any other plan from 149 pesos (35 USD or 25 EUR), including Mail Chat and unlimited social media, 700 MB mobile data and free talk with Movistar Community during weekends for three months.

Motorola MOTOSMART Flip features a transparent and touchscreen cover, which allows users to control it without having to open its flip.

In addition, the handset sports a decent 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper and secondary front-facing camera for video calls.

The MOTOSMART Flip is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and packs an 800 MHz single-core processor, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM.

It also packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included), HSDPA (7.2 Mbps), Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as GPS with Google Maps.

Last but not least, Motorola MOTOSMART Flip drains energy from a 1540 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 9 hours of talk time or 500 hours of standby time.

With MOTOSMART Flip, we are launching a device format that historically differentiates us from the first phones. Our new MOTOSMART Flip gives the brain of an Android-powered smartphone in a super compact and attractive design,” said German Greco, marketing product director, Motorola Mobility.
