Last week, mobile phone maker Motorola released a new Android 2.0-based mobile phone, the Motorola MOTOROI, which is bound to become available in the near future on the Korean market. As soon as the device emerged, so did rumors regarding its availability in other markets around the world, including the United States, and now more confirmation on the matter surfaced.

The handset has been spotted in FCC's courtyard recently, which suggests that it should make an appearance stateside, and it seems that some details on the carrier that will have it are also available. The guys over at Cell Phone Signal stumbled upon the device at FCC with quad band EDGE and T-Mobile-friendly 1700 / 2100MHz HSPA connectivity, showing that this would be the operator that will show it some love soon.

Previous rumors suggested that MOTOROI might land in the US as soon as March is here and, while there's no confirmation on this at the moment, the FCC appearance might suggest that the supposition could pan out in the end. The handset has been spotted around the web before as the Sholes Tablet, and the “Sholes” name appears with that FCC filing too.

What one might expect for the device to sport when launched in the US includes support for 10.2Mbps peak download and 5.6Mbps upload speeds, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and WiFi connectivity options, built-in GPS receiver, magnetic compass, battery model BP6X / SNN5843A / 1390 mAH, and more. However, the device will lack a physical QWERTY, something that Engadget says that points right at the MOTOROI.

The one thing that still remains to be seen is what name the phone will sport at T-Mobile, since it won't be MOTOROI for sure, and Sholes is also unlikely. The launch date for this handset is also a mystery at the moment, though it might arrive on March 10, Cell Phone Signal suggests. Hopefully, it won't be too long before Motorola or T-Mobile announce it officially, so stay tuned to learn more on the matter.
