It appears that Motorola has finally released a software update for Motorola MOTOLUXE devices in Canada, which is meant to fix some connectivity issues.

The guys over at MobileSyrup report the update is now pushed through OTA (over the air) to all Bell and Virgin Mobile Motorola MOTOLUXE units.

As we mentioned earlier, the update fixes loss of data connectivity and addresses instances of unable to send SMS. In addition, it corrects Music Store icon disappearing from home screen after installation.

Software version 1_74D_1022 should be available for download manually from Motorola’s servers as well, but we suggest MOTOLUXE users check for it on their smartphones first.

Motorola Mobility usually rolls out these updates in waves, so it might take a while until all Motorola MOTOLUXE devices receive it.

UPDATE: Motorola has finally released an update that claims it fixes Wi-Fi connectivity issue. More details are available here.

Okay, So I put this update on my Motorola Motoluxe and everything was fine until I find out that I can't connect to the wifi anymore! I tried different wifi connections but nothing works. My phone can still detect the networks but just can't connect to them. Help me please and let me know if you are facing the same problem. thanks

Yesssss!! My dad and I have the same problem!! We tried calling Motorola, they had no clue. We tried calling Bell and they also had no clue what to do. Restoring the phone's factory settings works, but only until you shut the phone off again, then the problem comes back. So frustrating. We are going to try calling again to see if they have received any news.

This is an issue for my son's phone as well. I just got off the phone with Virgin Mobile and they are aware of the problem. Both Virgin and Motorola are working on it and hope to have a fix in 48hrs.

Does anyone know if this is going to be fixed any time soon? And if it is how am I supposed to get it on my phone without using a data plan?

A fix in 48 hours? how do they expect us to download this fix without paying an arm and a leg for roaming data charges?

a fix in 48 hours? its been that long and still nothing? How will I download the fix without paying an arm and a leg in data fees?

Same here... I am getting annoyed.

Just talked to Virgin again. 2 weeks later and still no progress. A factory reset (wipes all data not on the SD card) will get wifi to work, but only temporarily, 1-2 days. Motorola also has no clue as to the root issue or when a fix will be available.

And the update kills wi-fi connectivity. DO NOT INSTALL!!

So this update that is supposed to fix minor things on your phone also breaks your Wi-Fi... just saying probably not a good idea to download it, but if you're reading this its probably to late.

My Motolux often does not notify me when I get a text message. It will not flash the blue light or ring to notify me. When I check the phone the message icon shows in the top left of the screen. I do get notification however it misses one occasion. Anyone else have this problem

Here is the latest fix, popped up on my phone today. I have not dared to install, awaiting some other valiant user to do so first!
