Android fans living in Sweden rejoice as Motorola has just announced the immediate availability of its affordable MOTOLUXE smartphone.

The MOTOLUXE is available in Sweden starting today from Motorola authorized resellers. The price of the handset has yet to be disclosed, but customers can check for the phone at the nearest store.

Aimed at youngsters, Motorola MOTOLUXE is shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system. The good news is that Motorola is now evaluating the possibility of delivering the highly-acclaimed Ice Cream Sandwich update for the MOTOLUXE.

The company officially confirmed its plans to offer this upgrade to all Motorola MOTOLUXE owners and said that further details would be available soon.

Aside from Gingerbread, MOTOLUXE runs Moto Switch UI, which is said to actively learn which contacts and apps are used mostly and places them only one click away.

Even though the smartphone is considered an affordable Android-based phone, Motorola MOTOLUXE sports a large 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 854 pixels resolution.

The impressive 8-megapixel rear camera is another selling point of the smartphone. The main photo snapper features autofocus and LED flash, but the phone also packs a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Motorola MOTOLUXE is equipped with an 800 MHz single-core processor, an old Adreno 200 graphics processing unit, 1GB of ROM, 512MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Sweden has a strong heritage in both fashion and technology. By combining sleek style with Android brains, we believe MOTOLUXE is ideal for the market where people want the latest technology in a sophisticated package. Not only does this smartphone have a big screen and the latest, greatest entertainment tools, it’s affordable and won’t take a bite out of your budget,” said Victoria McManus, UK & Nordics marketing director, Motorola Mobility.
